The book project “Yumi- an insight into japanese bowmaking” is an illustrated portrait of the craft, in which elements of non-fiction, reportage and travel diary merge together.
It portrays the art of Japanese longbow making, the construction of the Yumi 弓, which has been handed down for generations, in the home of the imperial bowmaking family Shibata in Kyoto, where I myself was allowed to live and work for a total of six months.
Concept, Research, Layout, Illustration by myself. Masterthesis 2019, not published
